My Everyday Makeup Routine

What products I'm loving and the everyday staples I can't get rid of!

My beautiful mom and I at an amazing brunch at Toasted Yolk in Houston. Makeup done by me; that is so easy she now does it herself everyday!
My routine from getting out of bed to walking out the door...
PREP:
My everyday beauty routine always starts out with the basics brushing my teeth and rinsing off my face with warm water. I don't wash my face in the morning anymore, but just splash with water and pat dry.
Next I have to moisturize, the one I am using right now is the e.l.f. Holy Hydration! Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Face Cream SPF 30. This one is very lightweight and I specifically get the one with SPF. ELF does make one without SPF but this one seamlessly blends into the skin leaving no white cast. Even if you have oily skin you NEED to moisturize, this has been life changing for me. I have less breakouts and even skin.
Once the moisturizer is fully set in the skin I apply the e.l.f. Putty Primer in Poreless to my T-zone. This is just a blurring primer that help combat any larger pores and texture. I don't over apply; put where you feel it is needed on your face. I have also been loving the Flawless Filter by Charlotte Tilbury dupe, the L'Oreal Paris True Match Lumi Glotion Natural Glow Enhancer I use the shade 903 Medium (comes in 4 shades). I put small amount all over my face. It gives a slight glow as if you just left the beach from sun bathing; in the best way. It's not oily and insanely shiny, no large chunks of glitter or shimmer which is perfect.
BASE:
Once my skin is prepped I start with coverage. Somedays I need varying coverage or I just want a fuller base. So I have three methods for a light, medium, and heavy base. These products are cheap and work so well for me and can be used the way I do it, or whatever works for you!
Starting out with my light base days I use my favorite concealer EVER the e.l.f. Hydrating Camo Concealer in Light Peach. This is by far the best concealer I have ever used; high end or drugstore. I recommend the hydrating formula but they do have "original formula" that has similar shade, but shades by the same name are definitely lighter so be careful. The hydrating formula has amazing blendability and doesn't stick to any dry patches or fine lines like the "original formula". Then I lightly set with a loose translucent powder, emphasis on lightly, I use Koty Airspun Loose Face Powder, there is plenty of great options at the drugstore and high end. And that's it for the light days!
Medium coverage days consist of the same products but I include a buildable foundation that I put a very light wash over uneven areas and blend A LOT. The foundation I enjoy due to the shade range and buildable coverage is the NYX Professional Makeup Total Control Pro Drop Foundation Skin-true buildable Coverage. I have about 3 shades that I blend together or use separately in case of being tan or super pale, (honestly I cannot pick a match to my face in the store ever!) My tip for great blending with this product is using a damp beauty sponge, I've noticed a brush creates streaks with this foundation . Repeat the steps from the light day and you're done!
Heavy base days are the heaviest I'll go, but it's nothing crazy you can even still see some freckles peek through. This is for events, or when i'm breaking out, or just want to feel glamorous. All the same products as before just an all over application of the foundation, and since this foundation is is buildable you can add more layers to areas that need it. One extra step when I am breaking out is a product to tone down any redness so I am not caking on foundation and concealer and creating the dreaded cake face. I use the Clear Coverage Correcting Green Concealer Fragrance-Free, I dap a small amount over the blemish and wait about 30 seconds to 1 minute and blend it out with my finger. Waiting for it to set just adds a touch more coverage. Then I continue my normal routine on top and done!
FACE:
For lighter base days I use powdered bronzer, blush and highlighters. I have been loving the e.l.f. Primer-Infused Bronzer Forever Sunkissed it's warm but not orange and blends smoothly. For blush I went a tad bougie, I am have been loving the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic in Pillow Talk Original it has a very slight shimmer that just makes you look lit from within. To finish off the face I'm obsessed with the wet n wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in Precious Petals it shines but without looking like chunks of glitter, and does not highlight texture!
When I want to double up on my bronze, blush and glow for heavier base days I use the Charlotte Tilbury Wands. For contour/bronzer I use the Hollywood Contour Wand in Medium Deep. For blush color I use is the Beauty Light Wand in Pinkgasm. Lastly, for highlighter I use the Beauty Light Wand in Spotlight. There is reason these cream puff shades are so popular, they're good, like really good! Yes, they are pricey and that is why I use the for the more full glam heavy base days. I set them with the powder products above.
Finish off any base day with a light spritz of setting spray and you're good to go!
EYES:
I can go crazy with an eye look so I won't bore you with all the gorey details but, here are some of my favorites...
Eyeshadow Palettes:
Bigger Brighter Eyes in Exagger-Eyes by Charlotte Tilbury
Mercury Retrograde Eyeshadow Palette by Huda Beauty *currently on sale
Single Shadows:
24/7 Moondust Eyeshadow in Space Cowboy by Urban Decay
24/7 Eyeshadow in Freak by Urban Decay
I also love the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliners and e.l.f. No Budge Shadow Stick in Perfect Pearl.
For liner I stick to jet black wing or a smoked out wing; my current favorites are the wet n wild MegaLiner Liquid Eyeliner in Black for a sharp wing. For a subtle smokey wing I've been favoring the e.l.f. No Budge Retractable Eyeliner in Brown. In my waterline I'll use the NYX Slim Eye Pencil in White for extra brightness.
My eyebrows are thick unruly and angry when I try to use any product on them. The only brow product that I truly love and can recommend and has never done me dirty is the e.l.f. Ultra Precise Brow Pencil in Neutral Brown. It's a very small tip that allow for precision when and applying and looks the best on me.
THE BEST MASCARA! I mean the best is the Essence Lash Princess Sculpted Volume Mascara, the one in the purple tube. I have tried all the Lash Princess variations and this one is the best! People have even stopped me to ask what mascara I use. (I'm telling you it's that good.)
